My Client-First Philosophy

My name is Justin Padgett, owner and broker of Black Dog Real Estate, Inc. I graduated from Texas State University in Biology and Chemistry in the fall of 1999. Originally from Lubbock, Texas, I decided to pursue my academic career in the Hill Country, and upon graduation, I could not leave this beautiful place. In 2009, after three years in real estate, I founded Black Dog Real Estate, Inc., named in honor of a very special black dog, Lady, whom I rescued from the shelter here in San Marcos. Ironically, she rescued me during a very trying time in my life! I made a decision after starting my brokerage firm that I would contribute a portion of EVERY single transaction to a local business, PALS (Prevent a Litter of Central Texas). This organization specializes in providing animals with good shelters and supporting low income families who cannot afford to get their pets spayed and neutered. What a win-win concept!

There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional – integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.

That said, in my experience as a San Marcos and Central Texas real estate professional, I’ve also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.

This “client first” philosophy has always been my approach, and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I’ve found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I’ve always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They’ve also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.

My Background

If you were to look up Lesley Shoaf in the dictionary you would read the words “adventurous & up for the challenge!” Adventure and challenge have been included in every step of Lesley’s life. While working for a San Antonio based marketing company, Lesley was asked to play an integral role in the expansion into Mexico. Over a short period of time she implemented market entry and sustainability strategies across 18 cities throughout Mexico….an adventurous challenge at its best!

While attending Texas State University, Lesley met Justin at a social gathering and the synergy was phenomenal. Immediately she added Justin to her long-term list of great friends and business partners…he remains at the top of Lesley’s list fourteen years later. When Justin asked Lesley to work for Black Dog Real Estate Inc. it was a no-brainer, she knew his passion and dedication to help clients would enable his success.
