San Antonio

 

San Antonio is the top tourist destination in Texas.  Besides its rich history and Old World charm, the Alamo city is home to some of the most popular and unique attractions in the Lone Star State, giving visitors plenty of options as to what to see and do while visiting San Antonio.  San Antonio is home to the Alamo which is the site of one of the most notorious battles in history and has been preserved for all to see.  The riverwalk is world famous and enjoyable any time of the year.  You can tour by foot or by boat and the riverwalk is lined with many great places to eat.  The San Antonio Zoo is one of the largest zoos in the nation, the San Antonio Zoo houses over 3,500 animals, making it a must see for kids and adults alike.  Seaworld San Antonio is home to Marine life shows and displays, adventure camps, thrilling rides, a water park and more await you at SeaWorld San Antonio.  The HemisFair Park features the Tower of the Americas, and has remained a top draw for visitors since it was opened during the 1968 World’s Fair.  San Antonio’s Six Flags Fiesta Texas offers the only “floorless” roller coaster in the southwest, plus over 100 rides, shows, a waterpark and more. Plaza Museum and Ripley’s Believe or Not!  These are two of San Antonio’s most unique attractions are housed under one roof.  Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum has eight galleries with over 500 displays of the weird, odd, unusual and scary.  The Plaza Wax Museum features over 250 realistic wax replicas of historical figures and celebrities.  La Villita was one of the original neighborhoods in old San Antonio.  Today it is full of gift shops, artisan studios, restaurants and other atractions.  Cascade Caverns is located just outside San Antonio, and offer visitors a look beneath the surface of the Texas Hill Country.  The cavern stays 68 degrees year around – making it a perfect place to beat the summer heat – plus it features a 100 foot underground waterfall!  Finally the San Antonio Missions San Jose, San Juan, Espada, and Concepcion were built over the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.  Today these four historic San Antonio landmarks have been preserved and are open to the public as part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
